Conscious by Design,
Crafted for Generations.
At Kyamuno, sustainability isn’t a marketing checklist—it is the foundation of our brand. From handlooms in the Kathmandu Valley to advanced, closed-loop botanical fibers, we build garments that protect local ecosystems, respect human dignity, and minimize planetary waste.

The Footprint of Fashion
The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and is a massive source of pesticide and microplastic pollution. Switch the model above to see how Kyamuno systematically targets these environmental failure points.
Zero Runoff & Minimal Consumption
Our raw materials (hemp, organic flax, GOTS cotton) use up to 90% less water than standard options. We prohibit toxic dyes, protecting clean river basins in Nepal.
Designed for Decades
We use long-staple organic fibers and high-strength industrial hemp that grow softer and stronger with every wash. Our products are made to be passed down.
Localized Artisan Ecosystems
Our manufacturing is clustered directly in Nepal, minimizing regional cargo transportation. Our handloom fabrics use 0% fossil-fuel electricity.
Dignified Living Wage Standard
We guarantee our Kathmandu artisans wages 50% above local minimum, safe sanitary workshops, and professional capacity building.
Nature’s Fiber Blueprint
We use strictly natural, organically certified, or closed-loop cellulosic fibers. Click a fabric card below to explore its source, life expectancy, and environmental credentials.
Industrial Hemp
Hemp is the crown jewel of ecological cultivation. It needs roughly half to a third of the water cotton requires, grows densely to choke out weeds naturally, and enriches soil rather than depleting it.
Kathmandu Artisanship & Living Wages
Every Kyamuno garment is handcrafted in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. By establishing deep local partnerships with women-led weaving cooperatives and family workshops, we keep heirloom crafting traditions alive.
Rather than squeezing factories for margin, we work on a transparent open-book cost model. We ensure our weavers, cutters, and tailors earn a premium living wage. This enables their families to afford education, high-quality healthcare, and stable housing.
For us, ethical production isn’t charity — it is about honoring the incredible human labor behind every single thread.
Living Wage Guarantee
Artisans receive wages 50% higher than the statutory minimum, with full health cover.
Women-Led Workshops
Cooperatives run by local women, creating financial autonomy in our weaver communities.
Grid Electricity
Our hand-operated looms use zero fossil fuels or grid electricity to weave fabric.
Traceable Sourcing
Every piece tracks directly back to the weaving household and batch in Kathmandu.
A Circular Path to Zero Waste
Sustainability is a lifecycle loop. We design products keeping their end-of-life in mind. Explore our four stages of circular garment stewardship.
Zero-Waste Drafting
Pattern layouts are drafted digitally to minimize fabric scrap. Cut scraps are spun into tags or small accessories.
Eco-Care Protocol
We design fabric weights to dry quickly without tumbling. Air drying saves massive carbon compared to hot drying.
The Repair Kit
We provide spare threads, buttons, and matching fabric patches with every shipment to support long-term self-repairs.
Closed-Loop Trade-In
Send back your old Kyamuno garments. We recycle fibers to create new yarns, and reward you with 20% store credit.
